Malikah is an anit-violence and wellness not-for-profit(501c3) organization advocating against gender ande hate based violencce. Build safety and power for our communities through 4 grogrammatic pillars: 1) self-defense training 2) healing justice workshops 3) economic empowerment programs and 4)community organizing. Malikah facilitate, train and organize communities across all five boroughs in New York City with CBOs, public schools and religious institutions.

As a member of the New York statewide network of Community Dispute Resolution Centers, the Mediation Center of Dutchess County provides dispute resolution services to individuals, families, and groups. Through mediation and restorative justice practices, we help turn conflict into conversation.

The objectives of the MHLS are: to ensure that persons with mental and/or developmental disabilities are afforded due process and equal protection of the law; to provide legal counsel for persons involved in judicial proceedings concerning admission, retention, transfer, right to adequate care and treatment, right to object to treatment, etc.; to investigate and take legal action relative to cases of abuse or mistreatment; and to provide general day-to-day advocacy services meeting the myriad needs of the thousands of individuals who reside in or pass through the mental health system annually.
